There are lots to do in the local area and it is totally possible to squeeze in a touristy visit here and there if you are up for the whole weekend. Stirling is great for a wander (especially up to the castle and down through the grave yard), the Kelpies in Falkirk are amazing if you are driving that way and Glasgow and Edinburgh are reachable from Alloa.
